Nicole Hernandez graduated in Masters in Architecture at UCSI University, Kuala Lumpur. Her works advocates in design sustainability with sensitivity towards its context at cultural and values of ecosystem level. She explores design concepts through conceptual models as a mode of translating her design interventions. 

 

Nicole Hernandez's academic timeline begins with receiving her Diploma in Architecture at Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan Malaysia(KLMU) from May 2010 to Dec 2012.

 

In the year 2014, she pursued her Bachelors at UCSI University, Kuala Lumpur, where she has been awarded a Promising achievement for her design dedication in 2015. In the same year, she participated in 'No dig Garden Royong' at Dignity for Children with Eats, Shoots & Roots together with Seksan Design, she engaged with the local community at Bukit Mertajam and participated in KAKTAO46 at Kuala Sepetang, a Community Voluntary Project with Assistant Professor Teoh Chee Keong.

 

From here, she has extended her experience with community engagement which explores local trades to refurbish local gathering areas like shop lots and house lots together with CYCU, Taiwan, a hands-on construction work wHere the primary objective was to understand technical works and exploration of dimensional relationships typically with timber structures.

Upon completion of her Bachelor's Degree(honors) in 2017, she worked as an Architectural Assistant at an architectural firm where she has been exposed to project coordination and management for high-rise - residential and commercial projects, and townhouse development that enabled her to develop professionally in a career.

 

In the year 2018, she pursued her Master in Architecture (Part II) at UCSI University. In 2019, Nicole participated in a Live Design Discourse at Chiang Mai (LDDCMI 2019) organized by Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia(PAM) and The Association of Siamese Architects(ASA) to propose a river rejuvenation in an urban setting of Chiang Mai city with 3 other nations - Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia. Nicole graduated Master's in Architecture at UCSI University the following year, 2020.
