For our coming assignment, we were assigned to study insects, my group chose spider as our study. At FRIM, I encountered several types of spider webs, most common webs that I found is the Leaf Curler spider, where it has a dried curley leaf as the home and the web as a trap to catch prey. Another web is the sheet web, it construct a web with a horizontal mat under which the spider hangs upside down, the web is commonly seen on leaves as a support to its web.

Sheet Web

The genera Linyphia, Microlinyphia, Neriene and Frontinellina construct a web with a horizontal mat under which the spider hangs upside down. The sheet hangs on randomly spinned vertical threads. Insect flying against these threads tumble down on the horizontal sheet web and are caught by the spider.

Above the sheets the spider inserts scaffolding of threads.

Another assignment that we did was to fuse ourselves into nature and to express it onto a paper. As for mine, I wanted to express how light is shaded through leaves and cast lightrays onto the ground or surfaces of stones. Other than that, the arrangement of tree trunks from tall to short, and the falling leaves that cought my attention.
