INTERNATIONAL CAFE
Summer Cafe, Russia

The cafe was designed by Dark Design Group, it is located at Ufa, Bashkortostan, Russia. The project was to design a temporary summer outdoor cafe with very little budget. From this, the group decided to use basic prefabricated materials for the walls and floor slabs so that it is easy to dismantle in the fall.
Through the creative use of the oriented strand board(OSB) on a wood frame, they are able to create a dynamic form which invites the public inside and also allows them to enjoy the outdoor atmosphere. By manipulating the wood frame, they take advantage of the different ways to create openings, which make for an exciting piece of architecture. Thus, reducing energy consumption in terms of artifial lighting and allowing cross ventilation from different angle.
LOCAL CAFE
Jibby & Co. , Subang Jaya

Jibby & CO is located right outside of Empire Shopping Mall, Subang Jaya. The Cafe is known for it's unique industrialized concept where louvres are freely movable, a 360 degree illumination which allows sufficient natural lighting in all direction and quality food that compliments the concept itself.
Subang Jaya is located in a sub-urban city in Klang Valley, Selangor. Estimate 20KM to Kuala Lumpur city centre to the west. This area is also the top 5 most popular city in Malaysia to date.
SITE PLAN

Wind direction occurs at East where the entry is exposed to the outer environment with greenery shading compare to the inside where it is enclosed with glass panels, corrugated metal sheets and little concrete.
CONCEPT
Jibby & Co's concept was made from scratch where the designer wanted to create an urban industrialized cafe yet modern at the same time. A similar design to a greenhouse where glass and steel are widely used. Due to the usage of monotone color, the entrance is tiled with earth tone tiles and a greenery shade which creates an inviting entry.
As you go in, earth tone floor finishes are continued to the sitting area where 3 wired fans are installed, and an L-shaped mezzanine that creates a full view of the sitting area and the counter. Movable louvres are the main attention where it is installed with rollers thus screening unwanted sunlight in every direction.
